History

Aurum Trust was founded during 1990 by Gustav Potgieter. Initially the company only concentrated on investment broking, but has grown into various other fields.

With the increasing needs of clients, Aurum Trust also ventured in to life assurance, employee benefits, estate planning, medical aids and other services listed under our services section.

  

People

The company boasts of 65 years experience with a staff of 4 people.

 Gustav Potgieter (Director)

Gustav Potgieter matriculated at Paul Roos Gymnasium and studied at the University of Stellenbosch, where he graduated with a B.Comm (Hons) degree, majoring in Business Economics, December 1988  

During 1996 he also obtained Fellowship of the Institute of Life and Pension Advisors (FILPA), now known as the Financial Planning Institute (FPI).

In November 1998, ILPA entered into an agreement with the CFP Board of Standards - USA - and became the S.A affiliate of this body. In the process, ILPA also became a member of the international CFP Council.

Gustav Potgieter does extensive financial planning covering all the aspects of planning, including Estate Planning.

He is married with three children and his hobbies includes almost all sports (competitor or spectator!), and he enjoys travelling and spending time with his family.
